It's off to the rainforest today and you'll fly from the chilly highlands of La Paz to the heart of Bolivia's Amazon rainforest. Pick up from the hotel and transfer to the airport for the local flight to Rurrenabaque (274m).
We land in Rurrenabaque and after a quick stop for a briefing and any last minute preparations, we'll embark on a 3-hour scenic boat journey along the Beni and Tuichi rivers, taking in breathtaking views of the Bala Canyon and the stunning landscapes of Madidi National Park. Along the way, visit the Villa Alcira indigenous community to experience their way of life and participate in traditional sugarcane pressing.
Arrive at the Ecolodge, where you’ll be welcomed with a refreshing natural fruit juice before settling into your accommodations. Enjoy a delicious lunch featuring local and traditional dishes, followed by a short rest.
In the afternoon, set out on a guided walk along the Dry Creek Trail, where you’ll discover a diverse array of plant life and learn about their uses in medicine, crafts, and construction. Keep an eye out for wildlife, including monkeys, peccaries, birds, and fascinating insects, depending on the season. After a satisfying dinner, unwind and relax for the night, surrounded by the sounds of the Amazon rainforest.
