Highlights
The local driver will pick you up from Santiago airport with a sign with your name. You will leave your private vehicle at the hotel.
Founded in 1541 by Pedro de Valdivia in a valley at the foot of the Mountain Range, the capital of Chile concentrates a tiers of the total population of the country, Santiago is a dynamic metropolis with multiple visages, close to the Andes and the Pacific.
Then your private English-speaking guide will pick you up at the hotel for a city tour of the Chilean capital (duration: approx. 3.5-4 hours).
You will visit the historic center, visit the traditional places (such as the Plaza de Armas) and pedestrian zones, and learn about the most important political buildings (like the presidential palace of La Moneda).
After the Central Market with excellent fresh fruits, the excursion will end in the parks of Cerro Santa Lucia: an urban hill offering three beautiful points of view on the city and the Andes.
Before heading to the most important port city in central Chile, you'll first stop at Isla Negra: the small town where Pablo Neruda's magnificent eponymous coastal house is located. A visit to the house—included in the tour—is conducted with high-quality audio guides in different languages.
This small black arena beach, lined with pinos and eucaliptos, inspired Pablo Neruda, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1971, to build one of his houses, which was converted into a museum. The poet Pablo Neruda's favorite home, now a museum, was initially just a small stone shack facing the mighty Pacific waves, which he purchased from an old Spanish sea captain. However, the self-proclaimed "paper sailor" transformed it over time, adorning every corner with sculptures, paintings, and books related to the sea, making it resemble a ship on land. Today, the Nobel Laureate rests alongside his third wife, Matilde Urrutia, in the same place he loved so deeply.
After your visit in Isla Negra, you will continue for approx. 1 hour and 20 minutes to your hotel in Valparaiso.
Experience the unique charm of Valparaíso, a vibrant port city and UNESCO World Heritage Site. This tour focuses on the city's iconic ancient funiculars (ascensores), essential transport for navigating its steep, colorful hills. You will explore the historic center and the artistic Cerros Alegre and Concepción, seeing firsthand why this maze of winding streets and vibrant houses is a true refuge for urban artists, offering a truly unique atmosphere and perspective on this bohemian city.
*Important: The check in at the hotel in Valparaíso is from 15:00
Upon arrival at Calama Airport, your local driver will be waiting for you. You will then travel by private vehicle to the small town of San Pedro de Atacama, where your hotel is located.
The Atacama Desert is one of the most majestic natural landscapes in northern Chile. In the heart of this region, at an altitude of over 2,400 meters, lies San Pedro de Atacama: an oasis town with sandy streets, a bohemian atmosphere, adobe houses, and some of the clearest skies on Earth. But above all, it's the ideal starting point for exploring the stunning surrounding landscapes!
A relaxing bath in a unique natural environment, where the desert gives way to a green and beautiful ravine with hot springs. Located 30 km from San Pedro de Atacama at 3,400 meters high.
In the late afternoon, we set off for the famous Valley of the Moon. The site is located about 20 kilometers from San Pedro de Atacama and at a similar altitude (2,550 meters).
It's a picture-perfect setting; a magical place that evokes lunar landscapes, formed by sand dunes and rocks sculpted by erosion, wind, and, of course, the passage of time. But it's at sunset that you'll truly appreciate the spectacular beauty of this natural wonder. All of this accompanied by a local snack.
The return to the hotel will be done in the late afternoon, the rest of the day free!
Important: San Pedro do Atacama is a privileged place to observe the sky and the different constellations, planets, stars and their ancestral meanings that were given by the native indigenous cultures that lived in the desert. For this you can include the Astronomical Tour. Remembering that the observation tour will depend much on weather conditions during your stay.
Why leave so early? Because the best time to see the geysers is at dawn, when they erupt at their hottest due to atmospheric pressure fluctuations. Breakfast (included) will be served at sunrise with a breathtaking view of the site, allowing you to fully appreciate this spectacular phenomenon.
After visiting the geothermal field, your guide will tell you more about the flora and fauna found along the banks of the Putana River, and before leaving the Andes, you'll pass through the charming village of Machuca, with a bit of luck, you might even spot vicuñas or vizcachas along the way.
The afternoon is free for you to relax or explore San Pedro de Atacama at your leisure. You can stroll through the town's streets, browse the market, discover the ruins of an ancient Atacama fortress, or visit the small Archaeological Museum (not included)... or simply enjoy some downtime at the hotel!
IMPORTANT: Warm clothing is essential for this excursion.
When arriving at Santiago de Chile airport, a private transfer will be made to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time in the city, you can visit restaurants, shop and some shopping centers. You'll see, Santiago is a modern city and is also among the most developed in Latin America.
