Atacama & Uyuni: The Grand Altiplano Odyssey

Welcome to Calama, Chile! Upon arriving in town, we will take private transport to your hotel.

San Pedro do Atacama City is located in northern Chile and is well known for being the highest and driest desert area on the planet. Its area is 2,440 metres above sea level. When someone tells you that the landscapes that are found in the Atacama are unlike anything else ever seen, believe me!

The rest of the day will be free so you can enjoy by yourself.

Today you will have the morning free. In the afternoon we will go on tour to one of the most incredible spots in all of San Pedro do Atacama: Valle de la Luna, places that would make a beautiful location of science fiction film due to its exotic and mysterious beauty. This tour is done in the afternoon so you can enjoy the magic that is sunset in this region. The tour ends at dusk when the temperature falls in Atacama, we recommend taking a coat.

After breakfast, the guide will meet us at the hotel to start our first tour of San Pedro de Atacama.

The first stop is at the Atacama Salar the largest in Chile and the third largest in the world. Let's take our tour to the Lakes of Munich and Miscanti (Altiplanica lagoons), which are inside the Los Flamencos National Park. The Park has this curious name due to the large number of these birds that inhabit the site. When we get there, we'll see the incredible blue that these ponds are! They are like that, bluish, due to the thaw of volcanoes, which left us this unforgettable view. During the day, we will make a stop for lunch, which is already included.

The return to the hotel will be done in the afternoon, the rest of the day free!

Important: San Pedro do Atacama is a privileged place to observe the sky and the different constellations, planets, stars and their ancestral meanings that were given by the native indigenous cultures that lived in the desert. For this you can include the Astronomical Tour. Remembering that the observation tour will depend much on weather conditions during your stay.

Today we will start the day very early before the sun rises, because we are going to Bolivia!. We will start our long-awaited Jeep Tour towards the Salar de Uyuni! Our first stop is at the border of Hito Cajones for migration procedures. After change cars, you will begin this adventure in a private jeep 4x4 joined by your guide who will meet you at the border and be with you during all your excursion in Bolivia.

You'll visit the Green Lagoon at the foot of the Licancabur Volcano. Later, you'll continue on to visit the Red Lagoon and look for three species of Flamingoes. At the end of the day, you will arrive at the village of Villamar where you'll have the evening free to relax and have dinner.

Important: At the beginning of the tour there will be a short break at the Bolivian immigration office, where you will receive your entry stamp.

After breakfast, you'll continue your adventure through the high desert as you see even more lagoons such as Lagoons Qatal and Negra. You will also be able to enjoy closer views of unique Andean wildlife like flamingos. In the early afternoon, you will see the Valley of the Rocks, later your driver will stop in the village of San Cristobal where you can have lunch, and explore the train cemetery before continuing on to your unique salt hotel in Colchani.

Today is the day of Jeep Tour through the Salar de Uyuni, the very famous salt desert of Bolivia !. Right after our breakfast, we will start the day with the incredible Jeep adventure through the Salar. We will make our first stop at the Train Cemetery and then continue on to the largest salt desert on the planet! During our trip around the site, we will make several stops, including one to have lunch. Then we will cross the Salar until we reach Incahuasi Island, we will have time to take panoramic pictures and at the end of the tour, we will go to the south to our lodge in the middle of the desert.

**Winter Season (June, July August): water may freeze in the pipes and could take several minutes to heat up.

**Rainy season: (November to April) Roads might be in bad shape. Uyuni Salt flats are flooded. Access to Tahua or Incahuasi Island might be difficult or impossible. The program might have to be changed due to these reasons.

We will also get up very early that day to have an invigorating breakfast and proceed with our return Jeep Tour to the city of San Pedro. We will visit the famous Colored Lagoon, the Geysers Sol de Mañana and later we will go directly to the immigration post, where we will say goodbye to our guide to board the Chilean transport towards San Pedro de Atacama .

Important: At the Chilean immigration office, the forms to be filled out will be delivered and after the immigration control there will be baggage control and a passport stamp for departure and entry, respectively.

Today, after breakfast at the hotel, at the agreed time, your driver will be waiting to take you in a shuttle car to Calama airport. This is the end of our services.
